WINDY GOWL RED ABERDEEN ANGUS

Windy Gowl Red Angus - Herd No. UK561669 is Diseases Free Accredited
in the Herdcare Cattle Health Scheme.

A herd of Red Angus cattle is located in the Pentland Hills, just south of Edinburgh. It is one of the few all-red Angus herds in the UK and has some of the very best of Scottish genetics in the current bloodlines.

The cows, which are docile and easy to handle, are large, fleshy and well ended.

Supreme Champion Ballavitchel Red Eriksson (Erik)has been the stock bull at Windy Gowl  for the past 4 years and has added strong, fleshy heifers of consistent good length and correctness, size and character.

We usually have good quality heifers and sometimes a few naturally reared young bulls for sale .

Auchincrieve Red Elation G908
We are delighted to have purchased this bull from Charles McCombie through Perth Bull Sales.  He is a fantastic young bull, very correct and with length and power. Red Elation (known as Ben) had a highly successful show season. He won three championships - Echt, New Deer and Banchory, two reserve Male Championships (Keith & Grantown), member of two winning groups (Keith & Grantown), unbeaten in his class at summer shows including the National Show at Turriff.

YOUNGSTOCK

Last year's calves are showing fantastic uniform quality, long thick bodies and pleasing heads.  Some of the youngstock is for sale privately.  There is the choice of two excellent bull claves, one by Ballavitchel Red Eriksson and the other by Lanigan Red Blaze ET (sire: Red Geis Pound maker 159' 97).  LZE Lanigan Red Blaze was second only to Rawburn Transformer in the 2009 Eurostar ratings (a system of stars for expressing the merit of beef animals).  Click here for more details of this rating (opens an Excel document). Both are well grown, naturally reared and for sale privately. Top calves from top parents! Come and see them.

2010 has started with the birth of two extremely pleasing, strong heifer claves sired by Ben (Red Elation) and they were born easily and naturally this week.  All our cows are scanned in calf to Ben for 2010.
